Along with his specially trained and certified ophthalmic assistants, Dr. Kwiat performs eye surgery (including LASIK, cataracts, advanced lenses, and plastic surgery for eyes) in his own state-of-the-art eye surgery center, the Mohawk Valley Eye Surgery Center, located next door to his medical office. DR. Judith Archibold
Judith Archibold, MPH, OD
Dr. Judith Archibold earned her Doctor of Optometry from SUNY Optometry following her undergraduate at Clark University and a Masters Degree in Public Health from Tulane University. Judith also holds a graduate degree in Education from Long Island University. Prior to coming to Amsterdam, she worked in practices located in Saratoga Springs, Yonkers, White Plains and New York City.
Board Certified: Board of Optometry (ABO) board certification is a process that allows doctors of optometry to demonstrate that they exceed entry level requirements and are maintaining the necessary knowledge, skills and experience needed to deliver state of the art eye care. Board certification demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning and keeping up with new developments in order to provide high quality patient care.
Dr. John Van Slyke
John Van Slyke, OD
Dr. John Van Slyke earned his Doctor of Optometry from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry following his undergraduate studies at Utica College. He served his general Optometry internship at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, and an ocular disease internship at a specialty glaucoma and cataract clinic in Johnstown, New York. With over thirty years of experience in Optometric practice in the Utica area, Dr. Van Slyke has particular expertise in cataract and glaucoma management, and has also earned his post-graduate certification in treatment of ocular disease. He is a member of The American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association, and Mohawk Valley Optometric Society.
